THE NEED
“We believe ministry should care for both the spiritual and physical needs of people.”
WHY THIS MISSION MATTERS
In Sierra Leone, access to quality healthcare remains critically limited — especially for mothers, infants, and vulnerable families. Preventable complications during pregnancy and childbirth continue to claim lives at alarming rates, leaving lasting impacts on families and entire communities.
In the Waterloo community, the need for accessible, compassionate, and reliable medical care continues to grow. Malaria remains one of the leading causes of death, while Sierra Leone continues to face one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world, with approximately 1 in 17 women dying from pregnancy or childbirth-related complications. Neonatal mortality also remains devastatingly high, affecting nearly 1 in 30 newborns. Limited access to medical resources, clean water, trained healthcare professionals, and consistent care further contributes to ongoing health challenges throughout the region.
Through years of prayer, outreach, and mission work in Sierra Leone, God has continually burdened our hearts to respond — not only with compassion, but with action. This mission is about bringing hope, healing, dignity, and life-saving care to the Waterloo community for generations to come.

PROJECTED COMPLETION

For years, NLCBC and NLFoC have remained committed to serving the people of Sierra Leone through outreach initiatives including feeding programs, educational support, trade and sewing programs, orphanage assistance, agricultural development, polio camp outreach, and the launch of the New Life Community Clinic.
This new medical initiative represents the next phase of that ongoing mission — continuing our commitment to bring hope, healing, and lasting impact to the Waterloo community and beyond.

Every image tells a story of resilience, hope, and the growing need within the Waterloo community. These moments captured during past missions reflect the lives of the children and families we have been honored to serve — and remind us why this mission matters. As the number of children and families continues to grow, so does the urgent need for accessible, compassionate, and reliable medical care that can help protect and sustain future generations.
